Universal’s Harry Potter Diagon Alley brings the magic with interactive wands
Universal is stepping up its Harry PotterDiagon Alley area with wands that make the environment interact with guests.
“Pick up an Interactive Wand at a store in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, then look for bronze medallions embedded in the street that mark the various shop windows where you can cast spells. Once you’re there, just perform the correct spell and watch the magic come to life,” said a post on Universal Orlando’s blog.
The wands will make lights turn on in a window or make marionettes dance, which should be a kick for Potter fans of all ages. And it should be another attractive feature to help draw visitors to Orlando, which will be good for the region’s $50 billion industry.
Theme parks have been incorporating more interactive scenery to engage guests more than just via attractions. Walt Disney World has similar games at Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
