Ace! Visit Orlando becomes exclusive tourism partner for U.S. Open
Orlando’s brand will have the best seats in the house at the U.S. Open since it is now the Open’s global tourism partner, Visit Orlando and the U.S. Tennis Associationannounced on June 13.
A partnership agreement between the two groups nets Orlando on-court exposure at the games, the ability to connect to more than 700,000 attendees and year-round marketing participation with USTA via program and promotional events.
“Becoming the exclusive tourism partner of the U.S. Open provides a unique forum for Visit Orlando to reach a global audience of potential travelers in all of our key markets,” said Visit Orlando President and CEO George Aguel, in a prepared statement.
In short: More global exposure could attract more visitation to the region = more economic impact.
The partnership comes a month after USTA announced a massive new tennis training center in Lake Nona that will draw trainees and trainers to the region. The center is expected to be completed by 2016.
“By working closely with the USTA through our US Open partnership, as well as leveraging the USTA’s future presence in Orlando, we plan to attract incremental visitation to our destination through the penetration of key audience segments,” added Aguel.
