The better-burger race in Orlando isn’t finished quite yet. Denver-based burger chain Smashburger will open in a space at 3162 E. Colonial Drive near Orlando Fashion Square mall, local food blogger Scott Joseph reports.
The space housed the former Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries. Palm Coast-based Two Spurs LLC earlier this year told Orlando Business Journal it had inked a deal to develop 18 Smashburger restaurants in the Orlando and Jacksonville markets.
The new restaurant will likely be about 2,400-3,000 square feet, seat roughly 75-80 and employ 20-25 workers, based on what the firm previously told the Business Journal.
Smashburger joins a number of burger chains spreading through Central Florida, including Red Robin, BurgerFi, Burger 21 and Shake Shack, which is the latest burger chain to debut in Central Florida.
