Shrunken heads and wizard money: More Harry Potter Diagon Alley details emerge
Talking to a shrunken head and buying stuff with magical money. Those are two things to scratch off my bucket list after a newpost from Universal Orlando Resort’s blog shared details on what guests can expect at the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley expansion.
For Orlando’s businesses, the expansion is expected to bring a nice boost in travel and visitation to the region, which can only help boost the billion-dollar travel industry through an already-busy summer tourism season. The expansion is expected to open up later this month, though no official date has been revealed.
The blog goes into detail about new live shows guests will see, including the telling of fables from The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and a musical performance from The Singing Sorceress: Celestia Warbeck and the Banshees singing hits like “A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love” and “You Stole My Cauldron But You Can’t Have My Heart.”
Seriously, people, I can’t make this stuff up.
But better yet, the blog shares that guests will be able to interact with the bus driver and yappy talking head on the Knight Bus. Many photos will probably happen there, too.
And Gringotts Money Exchange will allow guests to exchange their “Muggle currency” for Wizarding Bank Notes, which can be used in both Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and other parts of the park to purchase things.
